History
Opened in 1973 as the Sumter County Career Center, enrollment began with 200 students. The Sumter Career and Technology Center (SCTC) provides mechanical, technical and medical training; originally offering ten programs of study. The SCTC serves the three high schools in Sumter School District offering instruction in skilled trades such as mechatronics, cosmetology, health science, automotive trades, etc. There are 16 programs of study and approximately 360 students currently enrolled. The administrative staff includes the principal, assistant principal, and school counselor.
